Today Apple had a press conference that introduced a whole new slew of things. Things like the new iPod Touch and Shuffle, Apple TV, and iTunes 10.
The new iPod Touch:
The new iPod Touch is, frankly put it, really freaking awesome (coming from an Apple hater). It has a front-facing camera, a much faster system, and its freakin’ sweet considering this isn’t a phone. I’m planning on picking up the 32gb ($299) later this month to replace my old one, which has its volume buttons at a triangle-type angle and is pretty beat up.
- Front-facing camera
- Now has FaceTime and Apple’s Game Center
- HD video recording
- Retina display
- A4 chip
- Built-in mic
The new iPod Shuffle:
Not much different than the older one, the new Shuffle introduces a new feature called ‘VoiceOver’. In a nutshell, VoiceOver tells you what your listening to, the artist, the album, and the batter charge. I really don’t see the need to upgrade if you have the older model.
“Apple TV has been redesigned to be small in size but big on entertainment. Rent from the largest selection of HD movies — many available the same day they come out on DVD. Watch Netflix titles instantly. Rent TV shows, commercial free in HD. And stream photos and music from your computer to your widescreen TV”
“Your music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more. The best way to follow your favorite artists and friends — and discover the music they’re talking about, listening to, and downloading. iTunes is home to everything that entertains you”
The coolest thing added to iTunes 10 would be the new feature ‘Ping’. Ping allows you to ‘follow’ you favorite artists and your friends, and discover new music.
