Saving Snapchat Snaps and Stories on Android

Posted on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2015 in Mobile by Nick

Sometimes you get that one Snap or Story on Snapchat that you wish you could have saved. By following this guide and having a rooted Android phone, now you can.

Root your phone

For any of this to work, your Android phone must be rooted. If it is not rooted, check out Android Central to see how to root it.

Make sure Snapchat is at correct version

The tool that allows you to save Snapchat Snaps and Stories only works on certain versions of Snapchat, as in new updates Snapchat will change the code the the tool is using. Because of this, you need to make sure your version of Snapchat is on9.15.1.0. If not, downgrade or upgrade (if you need to find this version, just google “Snapchat version 9.15.1.0 apk”). Also, in the Google Play Store, make sure to turn updates off for Snapchat.

Install Xposed

Once your phone is rooted, you need to install Xposed, which is “a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs” can be found at xposed.info

Install module

The Xposed module that allows you to save Snapchat Snaps and Stories is called and can be found http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.marz.snapprefs . In Xposed, go to Download and then search for Snapprefs. Once you have found it, install, enable it (be sure to enable), and configure it. Once you’ve done that, reboot your phone.

At this point it should be working. To test it out, send a Snap to yourself and see if it saves.
