Today in Google

Posted on Thursday, May 20th, 2010 in Internet by Nick

Today was the last day of Google I/O, the largest developer event of the year for Google. Load of things where announced, like the opening up of Google Wave to the Google App Engine. I’ll give you a quick round up off 2 of the things that will affect you the most.

Google TV:

“Google TV is a new experience made for television that combines the TV you know and love with the freedom and power of the Internet.” Its Google’s attempt to bring a simplified viewing/finding experience and online web videos to the home TV.

Chrome Web App Store:

My personal favorite, the Chrome Web App Store consists of  games/apps, built with web standards like Flash and HTML5, that you can use. It runs in the browser and is very convenient. The process of buying apps/games is very simple once you set it up, and what we have seen so far is very promising (3D Lego Starwats, Plants vs Zombies, TweetDeck).
