Disney playing Playdom for $763.2 Million

Posted on Wednesday, July 28th, 2010 in Mobile by Nick

The Walt Disney Company bought the Facebook social game maker Playdom for a cool $763.2 million today. Disney gets games like Sorority Life and Lil Farm Life while the Playdom shareholders get a total of $563.2 million.

It seems Disney is getting a foothold in this new social game industry with this purchase and with the purchase of Tapulous. Also, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger, Disney plans to buy more companies. So with all this talent Disney is amassing, expect Disney to become a major player in years to come.

(Thanks to Blommberg for the Iger quote)
