Electronic Arts has released the next edition in the line of Sim City games, that being Sim City Deluxe for the iPhone. Some of the new features (that add on the the original game) are:
- Updated interface and enhanced graphics.
- Seasons and Disasters
- Power Line automation
- New landmarks like the Tokyo Tower and the Fernseeturm
The main problem I have with this is game is not the game itself, but how EA treats it. EA did not ever update the original game and pulled it after the release of this one, forcing the users off the old version to shell out $6.99 for what should be an update. EA needs to realize that iPhone and Android games are made to be updated and that these type of games are not like standard console games.
Now that I have my rant up there about EA (next up is Gameloft 😛 ), I can talk about the game. I love the nice change in seasons, the disasters, and the new graphics. Zooming and scrolling have been greatly improved, and a lot of the bugs that plagued the older version have been ironed out.
Overall, I like the game. If I were you though, I’d wait for a sale on the game.
