Posted on Sunday, October 30th, 2011 in Uncategorized by Nick

With Halloween knocking on our doorstep its always a good idea to get into the Halloween spirit with zombie movies. So for the last week I watched a zombies on Netflix and came up with a few you should check out. All the following movies are available on Netflix Instant.

Dog House

Six guys hell-bent on having a raucous weekend away from wives and lovers arrive in the town of Moodley. But something’s odd about this quaint hamlet. Where are the men? And why do all the women look like they’re thirsting for blood? The poor blokes soon discover that half the population has been wiped out by the same virus-infected, man-hating cannibals terrorizing them.

Think Shaun of the Dead type zombie movie.

The Crazies

When a plane crashes in a small town, a secret biological weapon is released. As the toxic substance infiltrates the local water system, some residents become gravely ill, while others descend into homicidal madness. Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) attempts to set things straight, but soon the military becomes involved in containing the killer virus. Breck Eisner directs this chilling remake of George A. Romero’s 1973 horror classic.

Undead or Alive

Fugitive soldier Elmer (James Denton) teams with lovelorn cowboy Luke (Chris Kattan) to rob a crooked sheriff and skip town with the help of an Apache warrior princess. But robbing the sheriff proves easy compared with surviving a zombie plague that’s sweeping the old West! Former “South Park” writer Glasgow Phillips makes his directorial debut with a new twist on that time-honored genre: the zombie western comedy.

Aaah! Zombies

Finally, a film emerges with the courage to tell a zombie story from the perspective of the undead themselves. Wasting Away focuses sympathetically on a group of zombies just beginning to grasp the implications of their horrific new existence. Writer-director Matthew Kohnen’s comedic nightmare combines wit and absurdity in its novel approach to the zombie genre, revealing the suffering of a neglected monster minority.

Dead Heist

Four petty crooks get a tip on a small-town bank job worth millions. Their plan is perfect and every detail is in place, but as the job unfolds, they discover that this little town is overrun with bloodsucking monsters. Trapped inside the bank, the robbers fight to stay alive against the onslaught of mutants hungry for human flesh. E-40, DJ Naylor, Bone Crusher and Big Daddy Kane star.

The Horde

When four corrupt policemen invade a gangster’s hideout near Paris to avenge the death of their colleague, they quickly find themselves outmanned, outgunned and trapped. That is, until a legion of vicious zombies swarms through the building. Now, the cops, the crooks and the undead are swept up in a bloody three-way rampage. Yannick Dahan and Benjamin Rocher direct this gore-filled French thriller that stars Jo Prestia and Eriq Ebouaney.
